David Saunders

Toy photography opens up a whole new medium of creative expression, that presents a whole frontier to explore. I hope to add my own uniqueness to this new universe.

David Saunders

Wonderfactory Artist, Worthing, United Kingdom

David Saunders (b.1980) is a medical professional in public service and lives in Worthing in the United Kingdom with his girlfriend and son. He was a police officer, worked in close protection, and served 11 years in the British Army, during which he saw combat in Bosnia, Kosovo and Northern Ireland. David was posted to Iraq in the second Gulf War where he was a tank transporter, moving heavy armour into positions and rescuing damaged equipment.

While in Iraq, David discovered the joy of photography through the beauty of the Persian deserts. Toy photography came to him in 2011 when he started taking pictures of his realistic dinosaur figures from Papo and Schleich, as well as the LEGO minifigures lying around at home. David has found a niche in the toy photography community with his eye for visual aesthetics through light and reflections, likely borne out of his affection for space and the universe. Ever since he can remember, David has been fascinated by the vastness of outer space and the infinite possibilities it brings.

In his own time, David enjoys the simple pleasures of life, making his friends and family happy, and building his personal computer to be powerful enough to match his prowess in digital graphics manipulation.
