Germán Omar Treviño CornejoWonderfactory Artist, Texcoco, MexicoGermán Omar Treviño Cornejo (b. 1977), was born in the Texcoco state of Mexico a rebellious soul. From young, German sought the why of realities, and was an intellectual rebel in school who questioned the state of everything that existed in his world. |
Germán trained in the Leon Guanajuato Active School of Photography and graduated in 2002. He developed as a professional photographer over the years with a career that included being sports photographer for the city’s newspaper Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico in 2004, appointed photographer for Governor Carlos Lozano de la Torre Aguascalientes in 2007, freelance photographer for MexSport from 2009 to 2017, and official photographer for Governor Martin Orozco from 2017-2019. He is now a press photographer in the state of Aguascalientes in Mexico. Germán has won awards and been a featured personality in the Guadalajara Biennial Photography Awards in 2011, Photo Journalism in 2012 and Photo September USA in 2019. Germán started creating with toys in 2017 after coming across the works of now fellow Wonderfactory Artist Felix Hernandez. He appreciates the genre for opening a door to his soul that lets him enjoy the atmospheres that move him, and loses himself in the creative process that nourishes his inner child. He collects and creates with toys of all themes, from his favourite Star Wars to quaint little pieces from MacDonald’s Happy Meals. Artistically, Germán experiments widely with water, paint, glitter, food, and anything he brings into his studio, to create images that stand out as unique windows into his world. |
