The best ingredients for good photography are curiosity, wonder, and the desire to remember the moments when you experienced it. Kenny FooWonderfactory Artist, Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaKenny Foo (b.1981) is a commercial photographer with his own studio that specialises in product and portrait photography for corporate and individual clients in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. |
Kenny started his artistic journey as a student protege, winning awards in the state of Selangor through his watercolours and freehand illustrations from the age of 12, before discovering the world of analog photography in 2004. His experience with analog photography subsequently developed his mastery of lighting, evident in his current work with Wonderfactory. Kenny started collecting 1/6th scaled figures in 2015, when he became intrigued by the quality and realism of modern premium figures. He started taking photographs of them in 2018 as a very natural progression from the elaborate photoshoots he does in his profession, and makes his best work by approaching toy photography as installation art. He styles his shoots with the subject and props to create meaning and aesthetics effects, for images that stand out. Kenny has held a solo toy photography exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, in October of 2019. |
